FOR ROASTING AND COOKING
Origin of pepper
Both sweet and hot peppers are native to southern Mexico and Central and South America.
Peppers arrived in Europe on Columbus’ first voyage to America in 1493. Native Americans knew the fruit as chili, but the Spanish and Portuguese gave it the names pimiento and pimiento de Brasil.
Cultivation in Spain began in the 16th century.
Benefits of taking paprika
Pepper is a food rich in vitamin C and promotes the absorption of iron.
It is also characterized by its content in vitamin A, folic acid and potassium.
Due to its ability to promote the absorption of iron, it is a very good food for people with anemia.
The pepper contains more vitamin C than citrus fruits, but to get the most out of it, it is preferable to consume it raw.
